"6 things you learn when you get a cubilce job"
The infamous cubicle job. It’s a job that at least some of us will have at some point in our lives. So what’s it like?
Well, for one thing, you could always watch a romantic comedy, and it would show you a brief depiction of the cublice lifestyle. But to fully get the picture, here is a list of things you will learn when you get your own cubicle.
- There is a lot of sitting involved: You will notice that almost 98% of the day consists of sitting. This might be good or bad, depending on your perspective of it. Sitting a lot might cause you to gain weight, and you might find yourself trying to come up with creative ways to stretch your legs. You will soon notice your fellow deskmates popping up from their cubes to try to stay active.
- Your cubicle will become your second home: Like any other desk job, you might spend at least more than forty hours a week at your cubicle, meaning that you will spend majority of your day in your cube. Decorating your cube with photos, snacks, and trinkets will give your cube more personality. Plus, your decorated cube might be a good conversation starter with your fellow coworkers.
- Your deskmates will become your best friends: It seems like a no brainer. The people you spend the most time with will always end up as the people you hang out with the most. It might not seem like that in the beginning, but with a little push, you will find yourself asking your cubicle buddies to go out for a drink or even plan a big event.
- Beware of the community pantry: The community pantry is a pantry where you and all of your coworkers can refrigerate your lunch. Beware of the pantry though. Especially the community refrigerator. If you do not indicate that your lunch is YOUR LUNCH, you might find that your lunch has disappeared. Be extra careful if you keep a flavored coffee creamer in the community refrigerator. You might find that your bottle of coffee creamer has become a lot less full than you had it a few moments ago.
- Packing a lunch might become an essential: With a cubicle job, packing a lunch might become the most sensible option. This will be due to your work schedule. You might have the luxury of your place of employment having a cafe to buy lunch, but buying lunch might add up, and you might end up broke.
6.Getting take out food with coworkers will be a tradition: Although it might seem counterintuitive with number five, you will get take out food with your coworkers many times. This might be so often that you might have “ Pizza Fridays.” Getting take out will be so often that you are your coworkers will have a rolodex of take out menus.
