The Note
I’ll make them sorry
theres nothing more to say
Pen and paper
hands trembling
Pain beyond belief
sorrow beyond words
An emptiness…
…. I can no longer live with…
Day to day
guttural despair
I seem to all
a faded memory
A ghost to many
loved by only a few
And it’s like I just want them to realize
need for them to feel
the loss of me
In my mind
it’s so very simple
In a moment being
the next not
But this decision
is so hasty
born of a deep sadness
something my soul just cannot shake
Please see my pain
stop my tears
Hold me close
say no words
Just keep my hand
from completing
this note

Note: I wrote this sitting in my car – no edits. At the top of this page is a video animation I created (work in progress). I also illustrated the background.

This is so lovely. I absolutely love the interactive experience, and it seems like that this music and this poem was meant to go together. I think sometimes our unfiltered voice and unedited thoughts provide us with the most honest, most raw, and perhaps more real version of ourselves, and this piece allowed me to glean that. I am so touched by your heart to do this for so many suicide victims, and it’s such a bold and a beautiful move. On behalf of so many others, thank you for your love and care, and please keep on writing, creating, and just being you.
Thank you, I hope to re-illustrate the paper better, maybe with a small amount of movement and put it on YouTube. My goal was to make a series called Voices Silenced for the purpose of raising public awareness. The other I’ve posted similar to this here – is called: Tears of Remorse and is about child abuse and neglect.
Beautiful, with words that cry out and feelings made real, thanks for sharing.
