All I want to say is thank you for working
We work harder to get them paychecks
All we do is work the best for our paying
So in a world where our bosses are jerks
And this is a cruel cruel world
A world that I don’t want to live in
We should celebrate with bottled
Our family works to make a killing
Champaign in the airwaves we party
Families work hard to earn paychecks
I say thank you to the working family
Just don’t feel bad as we celebrate us
Openly I thank the hardworking families
As we all should be the one celebrating
We should be the one earning our pays
Y’all should be the celebration of bottling
It is just a celebration of hard-earned work
As Y’all get your paychecks of hardworking
Overdoing the celebration our boss a twerp
Just he doesn’t like all the parties of celebrating
We all came to have a very spectacular time
As we all celebrated our very own paychecks
Our boss be denying our right to fun oh damn
He really a jerk ain’t he as it’s our right to flex
Bottles on top of bottles
We have a right to party
Like we’re Blake Bortles
Scorin’ touchdowns freely
Ain’t we scorin’ when we winnin’?
Bottles on top of bottles once more
Yo it’s just we’re in a celebration
We earned paychecks when we score
I ain’t comparing our lives to football
Just that we scorin’ like it with paychecks
The goal is to win all the time to win it all
Scorin’ when we winnin’ we earned checks
We’re hard-earned workers and co-workers
We’ve earned our goddamn paychecks alright
Our time to shine when we’re hard promoters
It’s our motherfucking right to go and celebrate

I love how empowering this poem is! It was really well written and flows smoothly between stanzas and stories. One thing I want to just say is that even in poems, punctuation is helpful at times. Just like with regular sentences, punctuation tells a reader when to take a pause. With poetry, it can be especially hard to tell when a sentence ends because the beginning of each line is capitalized. Like how when reading Shakespear, we’re not supposed to pause at the end of a line, but at a period or comma. Anyways, I really did love the poem!!
