Mazzy Star – “Fade into you” plays in the background.
My thoughts are spinning in a black cloud.
Eyes set on the same stain,
erase it all and write again.
Drifting through old drafts.
Some for pity and some for laughs.
Like the restaurant, Like the girls.
Some were patient.. curls and twirls.
Everyone I’ve ever loved, I’ve loved differently.
Ending in sunken eyes and bodies willowy.
Dizzily, distantly I can remember much to forget.
Like sliding off your dress to taste the sweat.
The paint smelled brand new which was perfect just like you.
I keep bouncing back ten years.
Cant lift much of anything if it’s heavier than a beer.
“I fade into you.”

I enjoyed reading this piece. I like your title because it is creative and does a good job of encompassing everything you mention in your poem. I think the most interesting line is, “Everyone I’ve ever loved, I’ve loved differently.” This part really made me think. Great job.
