Most people are embarrassed to admit
when they’ve fallen on hard times
scrounging each nook and cranny
for any lost quarters and dimes.
I’ll admit to having my own share
of searching the recliner chairs
hoping to find some spare change
buried treasure that’s hiding there.
Oh, sure there were lots of times
I had so much money to spare
and if a quarter fell out of my pocket
at that time I might not have cared.
But in hard times with pockets empty
and a pantry that doesn’t have food
those jingling found coins in my pocket
to me, sound pretty darn good.
