Welcome back students of Thurmond Elementary
Today’s a very special day for a certain someone
Well it’s Hughes Griffley’s sixth birthday tonight
So wish him a happy birthday as you leave today
So we sing happy birthday to you to Hughes Griffley
And to him he won’t deserve six punches from you all
May his birthday be a birthday he won’t soon forget
Because it’ll be a great one as we wish him a well one
Happy birthday Hughes and to you a very special day
I’m sorry for those who’ll give you six birthday punches
Because I can’t control them only they can control them
So don’t expect me to break up the six of these bruisings
So happy birthday to you Hughes Griffley and I wish well
Can’t you see the greatness in your special day Mr. Griffley?
It is I Ms. Glabbett and I’m here to tell you a happy birthday
And hopefully your birthday punches won’t leave you in bruises
Can’t you tell that I’m forewarning the six birthday punches?
How can’t you see that I’m warning you to the best that I can?
Because these six punches from everybody will be so gruesomely
So don’t expect them to be extra gentle so they’ll be extra hard
Thanks everybody for wishing me a happy sixth birthday today
I am Hughes and please don’t give me six birthday punches hard
So I beg of you I’m a softy and I don’t like the harder punches
Am I a wimp for not harshness of the birthday punch I receive?
I wish you a happy birthday said Gladys Schuckner softly
And I thank you for it Gladys I appreciate it so very much
Well this is so a birthday I won’t soon forget that’s a no
Just as I’m being punched six times in my right arm repeatedly
For it is my greatest sixth birthday I begin the first grade
I am proud to be a six-year-old and I’m proud to be with you
And of course I am yet a first grader now in this classroom
So I don’t expect you all to go easy on me with my six punches
I had a wonderful birthday and you all are invited to my house
My birthday party is at 1244 Shelbert Dr in Apartment B-12
So you all are invited to the party at my apartment it’s at three
Just right after school today and you have to take off your shoes
My mommy and daddy doesn’t allow any shoes on in the apartment
So please respect her rules and you won’t be shunned out of the home
Gee thanks for my birthday wishes and yes indeed I liked my punches
I ain’t going to lie to you I really enjoyed it and I can’t I’m impatiently
Please respect my mommy and daddy’s rules so the rules are simple
And now that school is over my party has started and you showed
What do you all think about my party at my home isn’t it so great?
Yes, yes indeed we’ve enjoyed it Hughes and we will see you tomorrow
