You’ve left me broken;
heart, mind, soul
An undeniable
Empty hole
My life stained
Like the dirty carpet
On this bedroom floor.
When I got to your house,
I took the eviction notice off
The front of your door.
And handed it to you
And all you did
Was throw it on the ground
And that
And the drag of your cigarette
Was the only sound
Besides the ring of your cell-phone
From the suitors from the night before
Who couldn’t get enough
of your fake moans.
The ones who leered
And called me
Babydoll
But I persevered
I kept going back
To that hell
To see you, though
You aren’t you
Just an empty shell
Of a beautiful, fierce woman
Now you’re just full of air
Of broken promises
You love us, but
You don’t care
So I love you,
But don’t come near us
Don’t fake us with your lies
Don’t plant your devastating bombs
And maybe one day
I’ll once again call you
mom
