Refuge of comfort! Oh, house of warmth!
He encloses me in His arms, and all fears fall away!
He uplifts my weary spirit; reassures me of my worth
Calms with every caress, and promises with me, He will stay
I lie close to His soft and gentle chest
Listening to His heart’s every beat; feeling every rising and falling breath
Time seems to stop when with Him, my soul takes rest
I know evil will be far from me, even Dastardly Death
My spirit is lulled by His quiet whispers of comfort
My entire being is engulfed in a deep, healing peace
My body falls blissfully asleep with no trying effort
It delights in this life’s respite, before my spirit’s release
I am gladdened by His strokes on my hair
I am soothed by His tender kisses on my life-beaten brow
With tear-studded eyes, I look upon His smiling face so fair
Then with joy I remember that I have found my soul’s home now
In life’s hard toils, during the day’s grief and pain
Your spirit has a sanctuary; a place to revive it’s flame
Your soul’s Lover will be waiting, with arms to break your chains
With love to heal your ills, and with a silken robe to clothe your shame
