“What does it matter?” she questioned.
I knew I had to keep pressing her for information even though I also did not want her to shut down completely. “Fiona, the only way we can find the person who hurt you is for you to be completely open with me.” I explained.
“That doesn’t matter anymore Sarah.” she said.
I leaned over and let out a sigh. Putting my hands together I interlock my fingers and look deep into her eyes. “Fiona, figuring out what happened to you would bring closer for you and prevent this from ever happening to another girl again.”
“Sarah, nothing will ever give me closer.” she exclaimed.
“Why would you think that? I questioned. She continued to look at me as if I didn’t know the answer. “Sarah I’m dead, there is no closer after death.” her lasting words brought me back to reality. There I was; sitting in my apartment alone looking over Fiona Stevens murder file.

I did not expect the ending! Love this!
Wow! I really enjoyed the unexpected ending. I went back and re-read the story again in a completely new light. This is so creative!
