These ladies came along
Gossiping on the sideline
About someone
Being their sunshine,
I think she meant her son
Or some such,
(Memory)
And legitimately
She may have been trying
To cheer me up –
Long story…
But the thing is
This artist friend of mine
Drew a set of comics
About how awesome the sun
Thought himself
As a man
With sunglasses
That I had cared about
But that man
Only cared about living forever;
This
Center of the universe
Man,
Oh
How
Love
Can you put you there,
But,
He didn’t care
About that woman
Or me.
I think about
Both of those things
And all the different ways
They can be perceived
In the current context.
Sometimes
I ask myself
Why it matters;
With the ever knowing sun
There
To coax us out.
How many of us
Have stepped into
The darkness
And stayed.
Some days
More wolf & dragon
Than woman or flower
Pondering
How the sun
Would feel
If things refused to grow =-
If time stopped
And our fires
Ignited the night
Would we keep each other warm?
Move like shadows
In the cool depths,
Fireflies
On a starless night.
If we are not to be missed
I say,
Who minds the rain
Or snow
Or skies of gray.
Perpetual
Motionless.
Be careful who you love,
They might love you back
