There is a girl in my room.
She sits alone on the bed,
silent tears rolling down her face,
painful thoughts running through her head.
In the morning, the girl is replaced
By a bright eyed girl with
A smile on her face.
No one has seen the girl from the night.
No one has seen the tears she cried,
Onto her cheeks that were pale and white,
Or the way her body shook as she sat at my bedside.
But everyone sees the girl from the day.
Everyone sees her bright blue eyes.
Everyone hears the things she has to say,
Because they don’t know that she speaks nothing but lies.
So who is this girl that changes from day to night?
The girl who only shows half of what she can be.
Well you may have guessed it and you’d be right.
There is a girl in my room, and that girl is me.

This was mysterious and quaint. A portrayal of two selves. Very beat how the dimensions of our lives can change in a few moments notice.
Thanks a lot ! I appreciate your thoughts

This poem provides an emotional feel. It is relatable. We are all emotional beings with feelings we yearn to express, but don’t know how. The idea of a sad, forlorn girl who aims to hide her darkness from the world is relevant because we all go through this. There is something about the night that brings out our feelings of loneliness and emptiness, and this poem captures this concept affectively.
Thank you 🙂
I really like the progression of this piece. It flows so well. Not to mention the poem itself, which I think most, if not all of us can relate to in some way. Very visionary. Good job!
Thanks so much!
Wowwwwww, I love this poem. I can totally relate to this. Reading this, brought back old memories, and old emotions. Even now, there are times where i become that girl again in my room. So deep.

This is truly relatable, and an amazing piece!
