I once heard a handful of pastors say back to back, “no man can take from you what God has for you.” At first I was enthralled and enthusiastically yelped, your sure right about that! Later on as the distractions of life came hurling at me, my worldly mind was once again overcome by all the challenges I face on a daily and my faith begins to slowly crumble. But I am again reminded of the stories of all the people I have met in my life who have overcome seemingly insurmountable circumstances, people that came from nothing and did something great, or more importantly have true tangible joy. For me this is the ultimate goal, not career success or greatness, but simple and true joy, comfort in my own skin and a sense of belonging and happiness. Not too much to ask for right?
In Luke chapter 18 Jesus states that, “what is impossible with man is possible with God.” Now, I’m not here to preach or reprimand anyone for believing other than I do, but on a human and philosophical level, there is something incredibly freeing and comforting about putting your trust in the hands of the being that made you and therefore is the only thing that knows you better than yourself. So if there is anybody who can do you better than you, it’s God. Those things that you haven’t discovered yet, those talents and characteristics you don’t exist, He already knows them because He put them there. He also knows your weaknesses too, the ones we see and the ones we can’t see. I know I personally get in my own way often and as I learn to trust God more everyday it seems I just do better. Imagine that!
But here is what I’m really here to tell you, screw the naysayers! The word says greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world, and also that we are going to have troubles and opposition in this world. It’s difficult to do, but we have to learn to be numb to opposition and not care about others doubts about us. Forget what anyone says about you, that your not good enough, that you will never amount to anything and throw out all the junk and excuses you say to yourself. If only this would happen or if I could fix that or I’ve gone too far. I call BS. Why? Because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. That means you are greater than this world, including all the nonsense crap people tell you about your lack of potential, luck and intelligence. Block it out, listen to that small voice inside that says yes you can do it, go talk to that person or to apply for that company that you aren’t quite qualified for. That’s your Creator speaking through you, the one that knows you and your potential better than even yourself. He knows what your capable of and He wants you to reach high.
What ever it is that you are destined for I believe you already possess the ability or the necessary tools to carry that out. Yes maybe you need some practice, schooling and studying but the potential is already there. We were all given gifts, skills, abilities and talents through the grace of God and those gifts will make room for us wherever they need to take us. Yes their are a lot of writers in this world, yes their are a lot of drummers too. Yes it’s hard to make a living with either, but I believe God gave me those gifts and I must have faith that if I follow Him, work on myself, my craft and help others, He will make a way for me. I believe He will do the same for you. Your gifts will make room for you.
Do you know what your gifts and talents are? If not why don’t you explore and try to uncover them? If you do, are you using them or pursuing them? What kind of negative things do you hear from the world to deter you from reaching for your dreams? What things do you hear deep within that encourage you to reach for the stars? Which one are you going to listen to? Here is my interpretation of the scripture, greater are you that believe in yourself, your gifts and callings than those idiots who try and stop you or persuade you that you can’t do it.
I would love to here back from you where you stand on this. Curious why I believe? Ask me, I’d love to tell you.

This was downright beautiful! I hope everyone gets to read this so that we know we aren’t forgotten by the One who made us all!
