The voices in my head are getting worse
Hear them saying if I do not listen
they will throw my name in the dirt
I am all alone I feel that things are getting worse
If these voices catch up to me
it is the end

This is such a haunting piece. Although the length of the poem is rather short, each stanza, each word plays a critical role in crafting this as a whole. Perhaps you were referring to a mental illness or just a clustered mind, but either way the emotions of torment and pain is shown in such a distinctive way. The narrator’s desperate plea is almost tangible in this “they will throw my name in the dirt” because they want this thought to stop. The feeling of being all alone really is a contrast to the voices that keep haunting the narrator. The separation of the reality and of the narrator’s mind, and the ironic twist where the mind is more crowded than the community where the narrator physically belongs is so mind bending. Furthermore, the last four words imply something far more ominous and scary, because it indicates that this is just merely a beginning of the torment, and in the end, there is another story that would follow. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this piece!
