All she ever wanted
Was to be seen
Her face became her canvas
Painted only to stand out
Hair like a neon wave
Skin like Pepto-Bismol
A dab of turquoise here
In her mind, perfection
She was It
Noticed
Loved
Adored
Until the colors faded
Gone were the brilliant hues
Screaming
“I’m here! I’m here!”
Rubbed out
Say goodbye to the colors
Say goodbye to your joy
She lived life in two shades
And neither was ever enough
Faded
Forgotten
Dying
All she ever wanted
Was to disappear
