His heart ragged
Left tattered
By his last and only love
She broke his heart
And stole his soul
And all he ever wanted
Was love, true love
His mind was shattered
Pieces of her memory remained
Like glass under bare feet
Cutting his every thought
The pain more than unbearable
And all he ever wished for
Was a pure and fulfilling love
At work he’d hardly speak
At night he’d barely sleep
Someone told him
More fish in the sea
Those words nothing within
Wasted a wretched man as he
And all he ever wanted was love
His clothes as on a skeleton
His eyes sunk and shadowed
All a short time, turned an old man
His house always a dreary darkness
Someone said the same as his soul
Everything from him someone stole
To think, all he ever wanted was love!!

I feel bad for the character in this poem. But I also feel like he’s a little whiny. Did he want love, or did he want her?
He wanted her with her love ..her love was what he intended for life. thanks for reading.
