Some wrongs never made right, some hurts never heal, and sometimes you wished you’d tried harder ..I did!
Your love craved
attention wanted
as a child cater
to parents smothered
boiling hate
your love needed
couldn’t escape
wasn’t to bother
you’d made clear
stay away
so ..I did!
In love remember
you a white dress
my love render
your hand caress
as the ring
after the vows
lovely bride kiss
I felt as a king
before a crowd
for you, love amiss
but love, I did!
A wayfaring couple
fighting every night
never tried voices muffle
you the teardrops cried
I was badly hurt
but tears my best hide
whole town the dirt
marriage grave
like X’s on a calendar
soon the day
take the blame, I did!
Ten years later
still unmarried
loneliness wishes better
some things never buried
your married again
if only you weren’t
but I understand
hard to mend
something so torn
you threw those rags away
somehow ..I never did!
