"Letter in disguise ( friendly fiends )"
Dear future friends,
I know we haven’t met yet but you have already changed my life. I m at the beginning again and only have the stars and trees but I see you in my dreams. In a past life I turned tricks like a circus animal for the likes of you. It taught me the secret to unconditional love is self love. It prepared me for the things we will accomplish later and now I can lay it to rest. I take those lessons learned into hour new life and together we take over the world, like pinky in the brain never could. Flying with our eyes closed because we agree that it is the best way to live. Generous with our mistakes, we laugh at each other’s flaws and dance with our demons. No matter of our surroundings, our authenticity is how we keep our freedom. An eclectic posse, I can’t help but be myself around. Defenseless and responsible of our many talents, we knit the future a blanket of possibilities. Humanity’s redemption is the string that ties the noose around our loyalty, keeping us tight and stubborn to pain. Using our creative sense of humor as a cure to the virus that is the program of our past. Together we walk around, as if related to everything. Owning the potentiality of metaphysical solipism, knowing we may be alien to the earth but not the universe. You guys are always ready to throw me off the train, when I m feeling sorry for myself. Thank you for never letting me wallow in my misery for to long, reminding me that you are better company. Released from our contracts of judgements, we have space for the vigor required of true love. Causing ripples, that bring jealousy to the moon. We pray like wolves howling to its fullness. We learn the sophisticated art of keeping our enemies closer, aware that it is the advantage to a real friendship. With great attention to detail, we recognize the only difference between friend and fiend is the letter “r”. Noticing the symbolism in our alphabet, we consider it’s shape, it’s stands and bows in surrender. That’s all its takes for a connection to blossom and we give each other room to reflect one another. We are all different colors from the same rainbow and I m fascinated by your shade. It’s an honor to share this human experience with you.
Your friend,

I love this premise! This is incredibly unique. I have seen (and written!) poems/letters that are to future romantic partners but I have never read letters to future friends. I absolutely love this. I think many people romanticize the idea of having a relationship (myself included) but forget just how fulfilling (and in my opinion, even better) friendships can be. I also desire a friend group like the one you are seeking – an adventurous group that brings me up instead of tearing me down. I like this continuous theme of being yourself with this group and embracing each other’s eccentricities. My favorite line is “Flying with our eyes closed because we agree that it is the best way to live.” Great job!
Thank you and who knows, maybe you are part of my future friends!!
