As you loosen the bulb from the lamp,
I feel you getting loose from my reality.
You twist it a little more and it suddenly got dimmer.
You turn it one more time and now
you are no longer visible.
This room feels unfamiliar.
Can’t seem to find my way
Eyes separated from sanity
I stumble over something and trip.
Face slammed hard against the wooden floor
Like a hammer on nails
I’m waiting for you to help me up.
You never arrive.
I walk slowly into uncertainty.
I touch every corner of this room hoping
that you become tangible again.
Who told you to turn off the lights?
I just got comfortable in this space.
But this place no longer feels like home.
Give me back the warmth
that was once created from your electrical current.
Turn the switch back on.
I don’t care what it cost.
I want to bathe in high beam lights
that only you can bring.
Don’t deprive me of divinity.
I’m not that strong.
Can’t you hear me stumbling?
I can’t seem to find you.
Bless me again
with a false sun.
I want to taste those vibrant colors.
Don’t fade into the background.
Don’t turn into a shadow.
Don’t hide in the dark.
You better set a match.
Light some candles.
Set this house on fire!
Can you make my face warm up like you use too?
Turn on the lights.
