CH:18
“Gray!” Came a faint voice inside of Gray’s head. “Huh?” He thought to himself. “My body feels so heavy, almost like I am drowning in water, just why can I not wake up?” Gray tried to open his heavy eyes. He heard his name being called again, louder this time. So loud it echoed in his ears. “Gray!!!” It echoed out. All of a sudden he remembered the events that had just happened. “A dream.” He thought. “So all I need to do is wake up.” He strained himself but his body felt frozen. “Just like in my dream.” He thought. “It feels as if there are rocks on my eye lids weighing them down.” He could feel something wrapping around his arms and legs. Then, horrifyingly, it closed in around his neck. “GRAY WAKE UP!!!!” The voice was clear this time. “Silas!!!” He thought in panic. “How do I wake up?!? How do I get back to Silas?!?” His neck closed in more as if a noose was tightening. He struggled his body could move now but he could still not open his eyes. “GRAY!!!!!!!” “Silas, are you crying?!?” Gray tried with all he had to break lose and wake up. “I have to get back to Silas!!!” This was all Gray could think about as he fought on. “I can’t breathe anymore.” He let himself fall limp. “Is this really the end?” He could feel a single tear fall down his cheek.” Then. He heard Silas sobbing. The same sobbing he heard whenever Silas’s parents were killed. “Gray please don’t leave me you’re all I have left!” Gray could now feel Silas’s tears mesh with his own upon his face? A memory flashed through his brain. A memory of a small Silas huddled in the corner of the funeral home crying. “Don’t cry.” Young Gray now appeared. “I’m here.” He watched as the young Gray wrapped his arms around the small frail Silas. “I’m here and I’ll stay by your side forever. “So please don’t cry.” Silas wiped his eyes. “You promise?” He asked tears still flowing. “I Promise.” said Gray squeezing Silas even tighter. “NO!” Gray screamed in his head. “I made a promise. And I will be damned if I break it!” He could feel Silas fighting against the force strangling him. Then. The sounds of slashing came. The sound of a slashing knife. He felt himself gasp for air. At last he could open his eyes. When he did, to his horror he could see green leafy vines wrapped around his body trying to drag him. One by one they were being cut off. He looked to see a strange female with dark purple hair cutting away the vines. “Quick grab him!” She yelled. He felt his body being pulled forward and before he knew it he was in Silas’s arms. He could hear Silas’s racing heartbeat as his head laid in shock against Silas’s chest. He looked in horror at the vines that had taken him captive as they hissed and withdrew themselves into a strange Forrest. “Thank god!” Wept Silas slumping his head on Gray’s shoulder. “I thought you had left me.” He sobbed some more. Gray closed his eyes and hugged Silas tight. He subconsciously began to pat his head as he said, “Don’t cry. Didn’t I promise you I would never leave your side. Idiot.” Silas laughed slightly before sobbing even harder while clenching the back of Gray’s shirt. Gray, eyes closed let out a sigh of relief and smiled softly. “Never.” He thought. Then. Reality hit him like a ton of bricks. His eyes sprang open as he realized what had happened at Silas’s house He looked straight into the girl who saved his life’s eyes, and she looked right back at him. “WHO IN THE HELL ARE YOU?!?!?” They both screamed.
