Why is jealousy so bad?
Why is it standing right there?
Looking you in the face, wanting to give you a scare.
It’s a sad thing, it’s oppressing and disturbing.
Yes, Jealousy it’s here, there, oh everywhere.
Why do you care, why do I?
It saddens my heart and makes a cry.
Why does jealousy have to be?
Because it’s not you doing but me.
Oh, what a pain, what a scare.
Jealousy it’s the thing standing right there.
Why is it so loud?
It stands in the midst of crowds.
Why is it so proud?
My heart sometimes it hogs.
Why is it so heavy?
It weighs me down.
At times it looks but makes no sound.
Why is it so bad?
Being Jealous I wish I never had.

I enjoyed reading your poem. It held a lot of meaning for me, and I think most people will be able to relate to the concept of jealousy being an overwhelming feeling. I don’t think I truly understood the meaning of jealousy until I was in a relationship. It is so true that jealousy is seemingly impossible not to feel; it is consuming.
My favorite lines are, “Because its not you doing but me” and, “Why is it so loud?” Both of these lines do a great job capturing the negativity and oppressing feeling that jealousy brings along.
