I came to a fork in the road.
I looked to the left and I saw:
Dark clouds covering the sky layer by layer.
Fear that came with darkness.
Running left and right aimlessly.
A fool who loved the thorn mistaking it for a flower.
Mirages that disappear when you come near.
Exhaustion that comes from running after the hands of the clock.
Sleep that does not give rest.
Dreams that turn into nightmares.
Empty heads.
Blind hearts.
Disgusting ugliness.
A coward who fears his own shadow.
Ambition far from mercy.
Unsatisfied hunger.
Bothersome fullness.
A midget who sees a giant in the mirror.
A pompous ego.
A friend who lies.
Bothersome companionship.
A conversation that does not ease loneliness.
A wretched bankrupt soul.
Pain that comes with loss.
Temporary relief that comes with forgetfulness.
A burning heart that ignites with remembrance.
A choking regret.
Then I looked to the right and I saw:
The sun who calms the stormy winds of a soul with its warm hands.
A spring that heals the cracks of a thirsty heart.
A flower that teaches the meaning of beauty.
A confidant who does not humiliate.
A friend who understands without words spoken.
A guide who helps the bewildered.
A door that is always open.
Power filled with mercy.
Overwhelming generosity.
Stunning art.
Greatness beyond comprehension.
Hidden fear of not being loved.
Hope that chases away fear.
Peace that comes with tears.
Attentiveness that ignores weakness.
Inexhaustible treasure.
Irresistible patience.
Powerlessness that comes with Inadequacy of words.
Silence that comes with awe.
Things only silence can explain.
I thanked God for letting me see these things.

“A fool who loved the thorn mistaking it for a flower./Mirages that disappear when you come near./Exhaustion that comes from running after the hands of the clock.” These lines really stood out to me, very powerful.
