Silent, little one, hear my plea.
The danger is coming, so listen to me.
The darkness, it’s rising, with you in its’ sight.
It’s coming, so beware! The burn of the night.
The lights go out and it comes to play,
It seeks in the moonrise yet hides in the day.
The children it finds so guard your heart,
Its coming, its coming! To tear you apart.
This kind of terror has many names,
But beware its grasp for you it tames.
It takes control, it puts up a fight!
So beware, beware! The burn of the night.
When the sun is up your will might be strong,
But child I warn you it won’t last for long.
When the crickets silence and mom goes to bed,
That’s when this creature shall have your head.
It seeks and it kills all in its path,
Take captive your thoughts or have its wrath.
Once it grabs you it will hold you tight!
So beware, so beware! The burn of the night.
It comes in pleasure yet leads to pain,
But once you indulge you can’t refrain.
For its’ teeth are mighty, its claws dig deep,
And it comes to kill the Father’s sheep.
So once again I beg of you,
Listen close or it’ll get you too.
Don’t even let it within your sight,
Or your soul will die to the burn of the night.
