I’m sick of this dark and nasty world
Why are we all consumed by religion and self-greed?
We move fast but inward
We’ve burnt bridges, and drown within our own grief
Ours souls have gotten thinner
We want and take all… like a thief
With little will to understand
How will we grow as a one?
As it grows, how can we withstand?
Maybe its too late, maybe its already begun
How can we grow, when our future is unplanned?
How can we save what is undone?
Wheres our saviors?
Oh where can they be found
Surrounded by our failures
Maybe we’ve broken them down
Not willing to see past our misbehavior
We are human, aren’t we supposed to be renown?
In a world of war and loss
Maybe we can’t see what we really are
You can’t soar with thoughts
It’ll break you down and leave you with a weary heart
You can’t ignore all the gunshots
Were all jigsaw puzzles, or even graffiti art
Do we even try?
Or are we not willing to?
Why do we laugh when people cry?
Or is it that we don’t enjoy our emotions breaking through?
Why do we give each other black eyes?
We have anger, how do we show it… or are we not adequate to?
Are we ready for the answers?
Can we change what we’ve become?
Our mind is our first cancer
With every action, we bang on Death’s drum
So why do persist to walk in the dark, with no lantern
If our actions continue, we as humans are to become undone
Undefined
I liked the poem talking about a great weakness we are groping with, we are unable get undone the onslaught of deterioration we have undergone.
“So why do persist to walk in the dark, with no lantern
If our actions continue, we as humans are to become undone”
A very genuine question we face .
