A pretty girl named Virtue skipped by me once
Her aura a soft, white glow; all darkness it shuns
I stopped to behold her; she stopped to say
“I am going to Foreverland. Can you show me the way?”
Quaint question yes… No such place exists!
Such were my thoughts, but her silver eyes had teary mists
Willing to help the darling child, I smiled and took her hand
And we skipped through the flowers together, together to Foreverland
We danced in the Sunshine, we pranced in Starlight whimsy
Then a briar forest barred our way, my spirit became flimsy
She begged me to go on, but my feeble heart declined
Weeping she plowed through, while I numbly watched from behind
I went back to the good times from whence I came
Only to be met by more briars, but this time set in flame!
I ran to flee the terror, only to sink in black mire
Snakes coiled around me, hissing their taunts: “You can’t run from fire!”
I’ve spent my life running, from Trial, Opportunity, Fear
My running days are done; I feel my charred body sear
As I decay I look up, and see a dove in a gentle Shepherd’s hands
In despairing agony I cry, it’s the girl I forsook… She found Foreverland

This was a beautiful poem, as all your poems are. I really liked the names of everything- it gave it a double meaning. Nice job!
