From the bottom of her heart, she hated herself
she was a devil, she evil yet beautiful
she did not believe in happiness or love
she was willing to get her hands on anyone
she was manipulative
she was a player and she loved the game
it was a damn shame
she enjoyed lowering others self-esteem
making others feel unworthy is
what she is known for
she broke many hearts because she had no heart
her soul was so dark
she was as vicious as a snake
her house was like a cave
and if you stepped anywhere near it
that was your grave’
no one was willing to step up to her
sassy was her name and
she needed to be tamed

Hi Masarati!
I love that the message of this poem addresses a flaw in human nature; insecurity breeds hate. I only have one suggestion: let us into this girl’s life. What happened to her? Why does she hate herself so much? How is she evil (this word can be subjective; “evil” has different meanings for different people, so tell us more)? If this person feels this way towards herself, show us through her thoughts or actions. Does she have flashbacks of guilt at her reflection? The same thing goes for her ruthlessness. What does she do specifically? Don’t be afraid to let us be disgusted at her, or empathize with her despite the terrible things she does.
Great job! 🙂
Love your poem, well written and enjoyed reading.
