I’m so thankful for my family
for the family that loves me
I can’t thank them enough
because they are so tough
My family is the greatest
they love me I’m so blessed
I am never seeking greatness
they always love me I am a witness
Please, won’t you be so thankful?
and won’t you seek to be truthful?
the families that you’ve got today
supporting you every step of the way
I can’t seem to lose faith in their goodness
and for that God, I get so many of their blesses
Oh Lord I needed them when I’m depressed
and I needed them like they needed forgiveness
and I am not here to praise those families
but go on with yourselves and love them oh yes
I’m not the one who doesn’t seem to understand
but I’m not the jury and you’re not the one at the stand
so stop pretending that you don’t love your mommies
and stop pretending that you don’t love your daddies
Oh Lord I needed you when I’m in doubt
and my family is the one who helped me out
when I’m depressed or in suffering
to be so thankful that my family isn’t boring
Looks like my family love me I’m so thankful
because I’m a witness and I’m so very tearful
maybe it’s because my family loves me unconditionally
and maybe I love them more than they can ever love me
Please, Lord, don’t let my family leave this earth
without being blessed with my son or daughter at birth
becoming the one kid to grow up and love this world we live in
when doing bad they need the Lord’s greatness when they sin
I can’t blame my birth mother or birth father for what they did
I was raised by wonderful parents who love each of their kid
because my parents struggled to raise snotty-nosed brats
to young adults that love the world with each of our differences

yes to gratitude! yes to family! yes to family! I love how though the poem seems at first about thanking our family, there is so much more. I can definitely relate because to be blessed with a family like mine (and undoubtedly yours) is such a beautiful thing.
