Gazing through the circle of light
reflected back is shadows,
but see the darkness flecked with white
the stars and heavens; hallows
Pinpricks through the fabric of ink
exhibit their windswept hue;
rings of tan, terrain blotched with mink;
planets roaming through view
A sudden streak of light goes by
a startle to its viewers
It’s milky wake ripples the sky
as it flees from pursuers
The vast sky is magnified, willingly on display
the night is exhibited for all on which to gaze
