You know that sleepy feeling you get when you’re tired from the night before, and the next day is beautiful and calm? Today is like that. There’s a dewy scent of fresh flowers in the air during February because this year spring is too eager to wait. The sun is still a little shy, afraid to radiate its full strength. It’s still gorgeous outside and the rays of light are tantalizing to your face. It’s hard not to stretch out in the sun and let the soft wind sing you to sleep. The world outside yourself is hazy, your eyelids feeling way too calm to stay completely open, teetering on the edge of closing. Today is like that. The sun’s confidence begins to grow; it grows warmer and warmer, till your cheeks turn a vibrant glowing shade of red and the darkest of eyes are on fire. It gives you hope. A sense of wonder. I could fall asleep in this weather, blissfully unaware, slipping into the most vivid and lucid dreams. Today is like that.

You definitely paint a masterful scenery, well done! Your descriptions were familiar and somewhat enchanting with a steady delivery throughout. The second – Today is like that. – was nicely placed after the reader is built up and has become enraptured in the prose, feeling the same satisfaction that today is this blissful kind of day. I liked how you used ‘blissfully unaware’ to describe the person, I’m imagining a person just utterly at ease and content having this day. It’s also a more complex way to use the word blissful and I appreciate that. I look forward to reading more of your work!
